Who the Sisters Are

The Sisters, Little Workers of the Sacred Hearts of Jesus and Mary are at the very heart of Our Lady of Grace. They are teachers, mentors, and guides for our children, but they are also much more. The Sisters live as a community of vowed women religious, balancing prayer, service, and daily life with the same energy and joy they bring into the classroom.

In a world where it has become rare for children to encounter Sisters in their daily lives, at Our Lady of Grace it is part of the school’s identity. Children see women of faith and conviction living with purpose and joy, right in front of them, every day.

In the Classroom

The Sisters are active teachers in every sense. They lead lessons in reading, writing, math, science, art, music, and languages. But what makes their teaching unique is the way they weave faith, values, and humanity into every subject.

A math lesson ends with encouragement and patience that teaches persistence as much as numbers.
A story read aloud becomes an invitation to imagination, empathy, and wonder.
A classroom project is not just about academics, but about learning to work together with kindness and respect.

In the School Community

The Sisters are everywhere at Our Lady of Grace: greeting children in the morning, guiding playtime in the yard, joining songs at chapel, leading leading prayful moments throughout the day, and celebrating milestones with families.

The Sisters are not distant figures, they are woven into daily life. Families meet them in the hallways, at the doors during drop-off and pickup, at school events, and on the playground. Their laughter is genuine, their guidance practical, and their care extends well beyond the classroom into the lives of every child and family.

In the Wider World

Beyond the school walls, the Sisters remain faithful to their broader mission:

Leading retreats, youth groups, and girls camp that inspire children and teens.
Supporting families with prayer, encouragement, and presence in times of joy and challenge.
Serving local parishes and wider community with humility and love.
Continuing the congregation’s global mission, with over 400 Sisters serving in Italy, the U.S., Argentina, Albania, and India.

At Our Lady of Grace, children grow up knowing that their teachers are part of something larger: a worldwide mission of love and service rooted in the Sacred Hearts of Jesus and Mary.
