Pre-K4 at Our Lady of Grace is a year of blossoming. With the strong foundation of Pre-K3 children step into Pre-K4 ready for deeper learning, greater independence, and stronger friendships. It is a joyful, faith-filled year of discovery that prepares them for the exciting journey of Kindergarten.

In Pre-K4, children are guided with the same warmth, patience, and love that defines every classroom at Our Lady of Grace. The Sisters and teachers encourage curiosity, build confidence, and nurture each child’s unique gifts. Parents often remark how much their children “come into their own” during this year — discovering their voices, showing responsibility, and growing into leaders among their peers.

What Children Experience in Pre-K4

🙏 Faith & Spiritual Formation
Prayer and chapel experiences become more meaningful and reflective. Children explore virtues like kindness, patience, and generosity in ways that connect to their daily lives. They begin to understand that faith is not just something they learn, but something they live.

📖 Language & Literacy Growth
Phonics, letter recognition, storytelling, and early writing activities introduce children to the building blocks of reading and writing. Through shared reading, journaling, and expressive communication, children develop the confidence to become enthusiastic lifelong readers.

Hands-on activities help children move beyond recognition into early problem solving. Counting, patterns, measuring, and simple addition and subtraction games prepare them for Kindergarten-level math.

Pre-K4 deepens children’s ability to collaborate, resolve conflicts, and show empathy. Group projects and play teach teamwork, while classroom responsibilities help them grow in independence and leadership.

🏃 Physical Growth & Movement
Daily outdoor play, games, and structured gym activities build coordination, balance, and strength. Movement is woven into learning, keeping children active and engaged.

Through celebration of traditions and introductory lessons in Italian and Spanish, children begin to appreciate the beauty of language and the diversity of God’s people.

Preparing for Kindergarten and Beyond

Pre-K4 is more than preparation for the next grade — it is a time of real transformation. Children grow in maturity, independence, and confidence while strengthening academic readiness. By the end of the year, they are not only prepared for Kindergarten — whether Traditional or Transitional — but they are also joyful, compassionate, and faith-filled learners, eager for what lies ahead.
